SKILLING AUSTRALIANS FUND LEVY (SAF LEVY)

 

 

WHAT IS THE SAF LEVY

Employers that are nominating overseas workers after the 12th August 2018 are required to contribute to the training of Australians through the SAF levy. The SAF levy is to provide support and training opportunities to Australians.

 

HOW MUCH IS THE SAF LEVY

The SAF levy will be payable in full at the time the nomination application is lodged with the Department of Home Affairs. Depending on the size of the business will determine the cost of the levy.

Business size

TSS visa

ENS / RSMS visa

Annual turnover less than 10 million

$1200 per year

$3000 one-off

Annual turnover more than 10 million

$1500 per year

$5000 one-off

 

CAN THE EMPLOYEE PAY FOR THE SAF LEVY

Absolutely not. This cost is company related, does not extend to the applicant and may not be recovered from the applicant.
