Skills Assessments are a requirement for certain visa subclasses in order to show that your qualifications have been assessed as equivalent to the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF).

Skills Assessments are a requirement under the following migration circumstances:
  • Applying for a skilled visa;
  • Applying for a Subclass 186 – Direct Stream;
  • Applying for a Subclass 494 visa;
  • In some cases, you will need one for a 482 visa depending on your occupation and your country of origin;

Prior to completing a Skills Assessment it is advised to check the Department of Immigration and Border Protection website regarding the requirements for the visa chosen and the appropriate Assessing Authority.
