INTRO TO VISA
The subclass 300 is an offshore temporary residence partner visa. This visa is a single visa that does not have an automatic second stage. The 300 is only a temporary visa but is a pathway for holders to gain their permanent visa.
ABOUT THIS VISA
A Subclass 300 visa application can be lodged only if you qualify with the following:
- You must intend to marry an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or an eligible New Zealand citizen
- You must be outside Australia when you apply for the visa
- You and your Sponsor must be 18 years of age or older
- You must be sponsored by your future spouse
- You must have met in person since turning 18 years
- You must be married within the visa period
AFTER GRANT
Once granted, the applicant must enter Australia by a specified date, and must be married within the period of the visa. Once married the applicant then has the ability to lodge an 820/801 visa onshore.
